Meeting sweet Luciana was such a treat after documenting Nick and Dani’s pregnancy over the past few months. Even with the ultrasounds and tiny baby kicks and endless planning, I’m always in slight disbelief when that perfect baby finally arrives. Seriously, what a miracle!
For this lifestyle newborn shoot, I assured Nick and Dani that we’d be on Luci’s schedule. So over the course of three hours, Luci napped and nursed and cooed and we soaked up every minute of it. I captured her tiny wrinkled feet and perfect button nose, her wide-mouthed yawn and subsequent smile, and her parents gazing at her feeling all the feels.
Nick and Dani collect special trinkets on their travels and adventures, so I knew they would want to include some meaningful props at the shoot. Say hello to Nenem, the well-worn stuffed bunny that’s a family heirloom. Plus, we also included the original ultrasound and calendar from the couple’s pregnancy announcement back in APRIL. Of course, there was no shortage of oceanic swaddles and stuffed sea creatures to tie into Nick and Dani’s whale-themed nursery.
All in all, I couldn’t imagine a more fitting way to welcome sweet little Luciana into the world.
